November 2024
I served in the US Army for 27 years and was always of the mindset that I will stay and fight for the American way of life in the USA. It is my country. Well, lately I have come to the realization that all the people whose views, beliefs and actions diametrically oppose mine … the USA is their country too. They are also Americans pushing for their version of the American way. Only now, they are the majority and outnumber me by quite a bit. So, their views, beliefs and actions (not mine) are the new default and norm for the USA. Realistically and pragmatically, I cannot change that. I’m not a politician or evangelist, nor do I have any desire to be one of those. Most of the people in the USA who still share my views cannot seem to change things either. I see them trying and failing.
The USA has become something very different from what I want or desire. I am at retirement age and really don’t feel like fighting anymore. Retirement may not be a right guaranteed to me, but I still have agency to make the best of it. My best option is to find someplace else that aligns better with my views and beliefs. That’s just the way it is. I won’t renounce my citizenship, nor would I ever do anything contrary to the laws or interests of the USA. It is still my nation and I will uphold the oath I took decades ago. I will still continue to pay taxes and vote. I just want to try living somewhere else.
Here are my reasons for wanting to go elsewhere.
Divisiveness
The USA has become extremely divisive. People expect you to pick a side, whether it be Orange Man, Sleepy Joe or whoever the clown-de-jure happens to be representing one side. Not picking a side and just wanting to live your own life will often get you labeled as an extremist or worse. It is almost impossible to have a casual conversation with a person without political statements being thrown out and them gauging your reaction to determine whether you are an ally or enemy. Neutrality is not permitted and both sides will work together to burn you down if you remain neutral. Several of my long-time friends have cut ties with me because I refused to pick their side and enthusiastically support their candidate. This goes for both the liberals and conservatives. I haven’t even said anything against them or supported the “other guy.” I just won’t heartily echo their unhinged rants and buzzwords. In the words of Nomad Capitalist Andrew Henderson, “if you don’t neatly fit into one of the two political-ideological boxes, then they don’t understand you and judge you as the enemy.”
Workplaces will often push a particular political view on their employees (usually liberal), all the while claiming it is not political. Whoever is in the leadership or HR groups of a company will push their views (usually liberal) aggressively, cloaking them in socially acceptable sounding terms. They usually endorse the latest popular political fad in the nation. The one that will portray them in the best light for gaining the most immediate benefit. The current one being DEI. They rarely, if ever, think long term. You, the employee, are at the end of their cracking whip of ideological convenience. The vice president in charge of my department at my last (and final) employer pressured all white men to stand up during a department meeting and confess their inherent racism and misogyny. I declined. For that, I was marginalized, sidelined, harassed and declared a “problem employee.” That has no place in a work environment and I am glad not to be a member of that company anymore. No thank you. Ironically, this company also touted itself as a Christian organization that glorified God, playing both sides of the field.
Cult of Personality Politics
There is an almost rabid deification of key political figures, irrespective of what they stand for, do, or don’t do. One is a demon, the other is a god, depending on which ideology the person embraces. Ironically, the leaders on both sides are all as corrupt and narcissistic as the day is long. I would wager a fair number are even psychopaths. Yet the masses remain blind to this and support one or the other with almost fanatical religious zeal, never bothering to examine what it is behind the man or woman they are really supporting. Many people push you to enthusiastically support their deity. If you don’t, or simply remain neutral, you will become the enemy.
Gender Politics
Everything political in the USA is gender politics. Everything is seen through the lens of how it might affect women, or the emotional feelings it might cause women. Any actions, policies, words or even ideas that women feel might negatively impact them are quickly condemned and vilified. The government and legal system regularly take things from men and give them to women. Both the government and corporate world places emphasis on how women feel about things rather than getting results or doing what works. Men still pay a large portion of taxes. Just how much is unclear, as search engines and social media do their best to hide that data. Just try searching on “taxes by gender” and all you will get is how women are treated unfairly by the (debunked) gender pay gap, the pink tax and other such search results reframing the question into female victimhood.
What is clear, is that the taxes men pay benefit women and protected groups more than men. Laws benefit women more than men. Government programs benefit women more than men. Corporate processes benefit women more than men. Academia benefits women more than men. However, a man pointing out any of this is quickly labeled a misogynist or called other kinds of unflattering, gender-based terms like incel or toxic male. Men are checking out of society in droves because of this. The gender politics in the USA are simmering just below the level of an all-out gender war. That is a war I do not care to fight.
Systemic Hatred of Men
In the USA, men suck, especially white men. They are toxic. They are misogynistic. They are uneducated. They are the privileged patriarchy, who in reality have far fewer privileges than those who rant against them. Everything is their fault and they need to just keep their mouths shut, unless they are apologizing for some heinous crime they committed against some other group, real or imagined. Men are at the very bottom of the intersectionality pyramid. Guilt, shame and responsibility flow downward to heap upon the men. The media, government and legal system will make sure men keep their mouths shut by having them branded extremists, and perhaps even arrested, just for verbally defending themselves. The only exception is rich, white men who profess a liberal ideology. They are good.
Men leaving the West for foreign shores or foreign women are branded as traitors, predators, losers, dusties, or some other such pejorative. This seems odd, considering all the man-haters should be happy the men are leaving. Yet, they rant and scream about this too. Passport bros are a declared a danger that must be stopped. Men must know their place and remain on the plantation, continuing to pay taxes, and do all the dirty infrastructure jobs women either cannot do or feel are beneath them. It seems there is nothing feminists hate more than a man having a chance at happiness.
Which leads to …
Misandrist Legal System
The US legal system is massively stacked against men, especially in family court. Women initiate ¾ of the divorces, almost always taking the children and assets away from the man. Then they financially cripple that man with an annuity for child support and/or alimony. All this from the strong independent women who say they don’t need a man’s money. But wait, there’s more. Men are imprisoned for failure to pay child support. Those few women ordered by courts to pay child support are given a pass. No action is taken against them for failure to pay. I know, my ex owes me six years in back child support. The judge just laughs.
But wait, it gets even better. A woman can abduct children from the custodial father and face zero consequences. This happened to a friend of mine, whose ex abducted his four children of whom he had sole custody. She abducted them across state lines and subjected them to physical and sexual abuse. One child escaped and testified to this. What did the police and judges in three different states do? What did the FBI do for kidnapping across state lines? You guessed it. Nothing. Two of the children are still missing. My friend had to rescue one on his own, even after he told the police exactly where she was. If a man were to abduct his own children, he would face decades of prison. Men are even threatened with jail time for returning their own children a few minutes late from visitation. I know. It happened to me.
But wait, there’s still more. False accusations by women that are believed without a shred of evidence. If it is at the work place, the man is immediately terminated. No investigation. No gathering of proof. If it is in criminal court, the man is immediately arrested and jailed if he cannot pay bail. His name is released to the public and slandered as if he were already guilty, while his accuser hides in anonymity. Then he sits in jail for up to 4 years while awaiting trial.
If he is released on bail, he often has to wear an ankle monitor. When the charges are discovered to be false and/or dismissed later, no restitution is made for the often hundreds of thousands of dollars he had to pay in legal fees. He also cannot press charges against the woman for false accusations because she is still considered the “victim.” His arrest record often remains, because many district attorneys will not consent to have it expunged after dismissal. Potential employers will only see the arrest for the crime listed on the first page of the background check. They won’t bother to go to page 9 to see the dismissal. Employment denied.
None of this … NONE … happens to women.
I haven’t even mentioned the preferential treatment women receive in the USA in the corporate world, academia, politics and media. They are one of the most privileged groups ever to exist in the history of the world, yet they incessantly rant about how oppressed they are.
What man in his right mind would want to live under such a system?
Which leads to …
Gynocentrism
Everything in the US is centered around women, often at the expense of men. As the government and ideology moves farther and farther into this dynamic, it takes more of what men produce and distributes it to women. If you want to see who consumes more, just look at any mall. Eighty percent of the stores are catered to women. Men have to provide. Women get to be “the table” rather than bring anything to the table. Gynocentrism not only normalizes this, but encourages and celebrates it. Anything a woman wants, desires, or demands is granted and glorified … even to the extent of glorifying killing her own unborn children and calling it a “right.” As an aside, the word “gynocentrism” fails spell checking, which is another indicator that it is not even recognized as existing. It is just taken for granted as normal.
Intersectionality
“The USA is heavily intersectional, which means people are afforded victimhood, and thereby superior status and treatment, based upon their physical and racial traits. Personal character or ability count for nothing. As a white man, I occupy the very bottom level of the intersectional pyramid. Therefore, everyone above me is a victim due to my evil oppression. Because of this, I must afford them benefits and deference at my own expense. I am not permitted to voice my opinions or defend myself. My implied generational crimes negate those rights. Any real victimhood I may have is dismissed because, as a white man, can never be the victim of anything. I can only be the oppressor. In American society, the “oppressor” bears all the responsibility, while the “oppressed” bear none. I have all the wrong traits to live in the USA.
Which leads to …
Equity of Outcomes
Everyone deserves an equal opportunity. Everyone does not deserve the same outcome, especially when their outcome is coming out of my pocket and they didn’t have to work for it. I’m not anywhere near as rich as Jeff Bezos, or Elon Musk, or Bill Gates … yet I don’t expect money from them. Sure, I had the same opportunities, but my outcome was very different. However, I don’t want to take money away from Bezos, Musk or Gates. If I want to improve my position, I will do the work. Ironically, part of that work to improve my position involves leaving the USA. I don’t want money taken away from me to improve the position of others who don’t want to work. On top of that I am condemned for not wanting to part with the money I earned. Equity is just a redistribution of resources from those deemed “oppressors” to those deemed the “oppressed.” Guess which one American society declares me.
Which leads to …
DEI
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. One of the biggest racist grifts of all time. It screams loudly about equality, while blatantly discriminating against white men. I’m a white man, so it doesn’t work for me at all. In fact, it severely disadvantages me. It codified equity and made a whopping business out of it for race baiters who run their gums and produce nothing of value. The US corporate world’s lemming-like adoption of this speaks volumes to their weak, pandering nature and lack of character. I am leaving the corporate world just as much as I am leaving the USA.
The Family is Dead
Even if a man can find a Western woman who still wants a family, chances are good she will divorce him at some point and take his children away from him. The US culture, government and legal system incentivize women to destroy families. Women even kill their unborn children in the millions. The fertility rate in the USA, and the entire West, is far below sustainment rate. The government has taken the place of the “father” with its entitlement programs geared towards women. What’s worse, men who want to leave the USA to find foreign women who want families are shamed and condemned. Once again, these men need to know their place as childless drones and stay on the plantation to produce things of value for the gynocracy.
Schools
Schools in the USA do not teach, they indoctrinate. Especially public schools and universities. The indoctrinate children with values that run contrary to my own. Therefore, I do not want my children in US public schools … or any school within the USA. I want my children to have my values, not the values of the political state. The fact that the state seems more and more inclined to force these values on children, irrespective of their parent’s wishes, is disturbing. Some do it even to the point of declaring the parents criminals for having legal, traditional values. Being outside the USA enables me to send them to traditional schools where the culture supports the same values I have.
View of the Outside
Anything outside the West is considered ignorant and 3rd world. We do it all better in the USA. Our media and government will be sure to keep that message foremost in your mind, but exaggerating the good and hiding the bad. They will similarly ignore anything non-Western nations do that might be better than our current system. Foreign countries who embrace religion are considered backwards and uneducated. Countries who embrace traditional values are seen as socially primitive and unenlightened. Foreign women who would rather be mothers with families than boss babes with cats are considered oppressed and brainwashed … by men of course. To the average American, the US liberal democratic ideology is the pinnacle of human evolution and must be forced upon the rest of the ignorant world for their own good. Whether they want it or not. I can assure you, the USA does not know what is best. In fact, much of the world laughs at our hollow and hedonistic culture and values.
Conclusion
I originally had just three reasons on this list. It grew to a dozen as I began writing and thought of more. I think I could easily reach two dozen, but it has to stop somewhere before the article becomes unreadable. The USA is a very toxic environment today for a man. If I merely stood up and voiced even one of the above things in the workplace, I would be fire. If I opened my mouth about any of them in a school or university, I would be suspended or expelled. If I voiced them on social media, I would be condemned, harassed and doxed. If I raised them in court, I would be jailed for contempt. When a man asks me, “Why do you want to leave?” my only response is, “Why do you want to stay?”
