Stolen valor tale of an American who pretended to be a World War 2 German war hero. He was immortalized in a 1986 military professional journal article about a desperate German defensive battle against an overwhelming Russian force, in Vienna in April 1945.

Article written in 1986 that countered the above stolen valor tale. It was written by a German officer who commanded the real actions there, which do not resemble the stolen valor tale. It never gained any traction and remained unpublished in Germany and the United States.
